Mood Disorders (e.g. depression, bipolar), anxiety disorders (e.g. generalized anxiety, social anxiety, OCD, PTSD) or other psychological conditions (e.g. personality disorders) run on a spectrum.
Sometimes an individual may only have a few symptoms and not be significantly impacted. In other, where someone has more symptoms, psychological conditions can be debilitating. I work with individuals that experience mild to moderate psychological conditions.
My approach, however, is that I treat people – I do not treat symptoms. In other words, we work on YOU as a person, and not YOU as a set of symptoms. Symptom relief does not provide the depth of exploration needed for deeper change to fully address psychological conditions.
